My name is Harm Korten. I have been living in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, for the past 20+ years.

My professional career in IT started around 2001. I was offered chance to enter a developer traineeship, allowing me to professionally do what I was already doing privately .... programming! After working for several years as a developer on local government software, I moved to Vivens. Vivens was a webdevelopment company, where I started as a PHP developer.

Late 2005, Vivens became a partner and I reluctantly set my first steps into the cloud. It took me just 1 Salesforce training in Dublin to become a Salesforce/ enthusiast. This enthusiasm has only grown exponentially ever since. I have been living and breathing from that moment on, witnessing it's evolution from a smart CRM application to the full blown cloud platform it is today.

Over the past decade+, I have been involved in dozens of projects, covering a wide spectrum of roles, scopes and sizes. From business consultant to developer and from trainer to integration architect and virtually anything in between. Along the way I have collected some Salesforce certifications, check them out here. From 2009 to 2015 I travelled the world as an authorized technical Salesforce instructor, for the dev401, dev501 and dev502 courses.

In 2012, after Vivens had been dissolved after an acquisition, I moved to CRMWaypoint. Like Vivens, CRMWaypoint was a relatively small and informal Salesforce "boutique". After 2 years at CRMWaypoint, another acquisition took place. I now worked for Accenture Cloud First! Although this new adventure was very enjoyable, I could not resist the temptation when a start-up in the realm asked me to join

This 2017 start-up is called and on the first of February 2017, my Salesforce adventure continued here!

Currently my primary interests are, APEX, VisualForce, Lightning, Web API's, Javascript, Node.js, Heroku, NLP (, etc), IoT/Prototyping, Alexa AVS, Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft Bot Framework.

Thanks for visiting my site. I hope to regularly update it with new blogs ;)
